If you once found yourself at a concert where roars of laughter accompanied driving melodies and a soaring voice, you might well have been at a Katie Reider show. This folk-rock musician combined John Mayer charisma, with Ellen DeGeneres wit, and topped it all off with a songwriting style reminiscent of an early Shawn Colvin. Her band had a way of delivering the music in a premium package by laying melodies and grooves behind her strong vocals and acoustic guitar. After her first release in 1998, Reider was recognized by the local and national recording industry, winning 5 Cincinnati area music awards, landing several national airing spots on the ABC television network, and independently selling over 10,000 CDs.
